I recall her as being very "BBC friendly" back in the 70s, but not a whisper of her passing on the front page of the BBC News website.

Had to look her up and realised that I remember her from childhood. I most remember singing her most famous song as ' I've got a brand new pair of underpants '.

Sad news. She was a really lovely girl. We did a warm up for her ‘BBC2 In Concert ‘ programme, back in the 70s. After the show, she came out with us for a curry. No airs and graces, just a nice person.
